Huge huge huge for Penn State... especially with this being a down year for the Big Ten. They really have a legitimate chance to get to the Big Ten Championship game. Here's a look at their remaining schedule:
@ Rutgers
vs. UMASS
vs. Northwestern
@ Michigan
vs. Ohio State
vs. Maryland
@ Indiana
vs. Temple
@ Illinois
vs. Michigan St.
The 3 obvious tough games will be the usual ones for them... Michigan (on the road) and OSU/MSU... but both of those at home. I think they win all the others... and Michigan St. game is not a divisional game so a loss wouldn't matter as far as Big Ten Title game goes.
We shall see how everything plays out. They need to sure up the offensive line and get the run game going that's for sure. Hackenberg also needs to learn to throw the ball away at times and try not to force plays... that's exactly what his 3 INT's for the season are so far... forced throws into coverage he should never be making. He's still a sophomore though.. and still growing.
I said they over reached on the sanctions and they'd have to remove them. Now the only thing they have left to do is reverse that ridiculous removal of wins.
Must give Penn State credit. O'Brien did a terrific job, and now you've got a very good replacement in Franklin. As bad as the Big Ten is, Penn State may end up having the best team within the next couple of years.
All of the sanctions have finally been lifted. The Penn State football program can now get back to normal.
