I spent most of yesterday afternoon sitting on the edge of my seat watching the OSU-Michigan game. OSU needs to up their defense, Michigan's last drive up the field shouldn't have looked so easy. Not gonna work against other top teams. Thankfully the two-point conversion failed, the look on the faces of Michigan fans was priceless!

Gardner was clearly gimpy, yet the D seemed to rarely blitz. I don't understand that.

The biggest thing I miss about the Tressel era is the emphasis on defense. Everyone on the Buckeyes' media beat seems so thrilled with having Luke Fickell as defensive coordinator and LB coach, but neither the defense nor the linebackers have performed as well under him as they did under Tressel's coaches. Granted, Luke did the program a favor by taking the helm for one difficult season and he deserved to be kept on the staff for that. But how many chances does he get?

Now the emphasis is on scoring, and defense seems to be more focused on capitalizing on turnovers, rather than controlling the LOS, sacks and forcing 3-and-outs. I don't like it.

Buckeyes need to play better against Mich St. They cannot afford another bad defensive game.

A few things...

Roby has been sooooo over hyped. I've watched him all year, and he has not even been dependable in coverage, let alone one of the top DBs in the county, as he was supposed to be.

Luke Fickell drew the short straw in 2011 and had to take one for the team as interim head coach of the dismantlement Buckeyes, so maybe he deserved some special consideration when Urban Meyer put together his staff. But he is not doing a good job, and needs to be replaced. Perhaps even before 2014.

Carlos Hyde should be on the Heisman Short list going to NYC

Braxton Miller is pretty good, but I still think Kenny Guiton might actually be better

Marcus Hall definitely, and Dontre Wilson maybe, should be suspended 1 game

Hall I can see, but Wilson about had his head torn off. His reaction is understandable.
