Well, after last night's 62-41 whuppin' to Arizona State last night, USC's Athletic Director Pat Haden has fired head coach Lane Kiffin. An afternoon press conference has just been scheduled by USC.

It is somewhat surprising (to me, anyway) that this would happen so early in the season. Surprised in general? No, not at all. In his last 11 games he was 4-7.

I guess he heads on down to Texas then.

How he went to such a marquee job after a poor showing at Tennessee is beyond reason. His wife isn't that hot...

He's done at the FCB level at a head coach. I can't imagine, given the man's miserable track record with the talent Tennessee and USC routinely bring in, how anybody would offer him a job.

To help his dad in Dallas?

I sure don't see a fit with the Longhorns. Texas won't have to settle for a coach who has been fired from anywhere. They might be the most likely team to pry Saban loose from Alabama.

He is a terrible fit for Texas. He is a bad head coach. And he has terrible public relations ability. I'm not sure why anyone would hire him. He can claim probation at USC is the problem, not him. But they shouldn't lose to some of those teams even with a loss of scholarships.

I'm not surprised they fired him(he had it coming) and I'm surprised they did it during the season. Maybe they're trying to get a jump on the hiring process since they're going to be a lot good open jobs at the end of the season. Texas, Nebraska, West Virginia, Stanford(If Shaw goes to Texas).

Hell no! We don't want that clown down here. What has this guy ever accomplished to keep getting these jobs?

I was joking about Texas. The guy gets unbelievable opportunities despite his track record.

InsideUSC @InsideUSC
#USC A.D. Pat Haden met with advisers in tiny room during third quarter of ASU loss. This where decision was made to fire Lane Kiffin

InsideUSC @InsideUSC
Lane Kiffin got pulled off the team bus at Los Angeles International Airport by Pat Haden when he was fired

InsideUSC @InsideUSC
Pat Haden, J.K. McKay, Steve Lopes, Mark Jackson (#USC administrators) met with Lane Kiffin at LAX parking lot to dismiss him
InsideUSC @InsideUSC
I'm told Lane Kiffin told the bus to wait but then #USC administrators told it to go back to campus without him

InsideUSC @InsideUSC
I heard Lane Kiffin left his bag on team bus because he thought his meeting with Pat Haden would be brief and routine matter

Like a Boss. Lmfao. He'll be a positions coach in the nfl. Nothing more.
