I don't know about you, but there are far too many bowl games. When you have 6 and 7 teams from a conference going to a bowl game, it dilutes the significance of the games. Over 50% of all FBS teams will get to play in a bowl game.

This year there will be 35 bowl games being played. That's way too many. I personally think they should chop i down to 20, 24 at the most.

How many bowl games do you feel there should be?

If you think 35 bowls is bad, starting next year there will be 39 of them. That means 78/125 FBS teams will go bowling. Using the law of averages there will be multiple teams under .500 going to bowl games. Pathetic.

20 bowls.

That's enough.

I agree, there's way too many bowls. There probably shouldn't be more than about 20 bowls or so. The bowl sponsors and schools make money from the bowls of course so I doubt that it will change.

With the new playoff system they should do away with all these meaningless bowls.

I dont see the harm. People will only pay attention to the playoffs. These meaningless bowls will just make money for schools, help out the conferences, and make fans happy.

All that will matter is the playoff. It is really something good for the schools and fans, at no harm to anyone.

Actually most teams lose money going to bowl games.

13 teams out of 66 losing money isn't most. That's a few.

I say the more bowls the better. Though I don't really think sub .500 teams should be awarded a bowl spot.

Extend the playoff (16-32) and get rid of the rest of the bowls i.e. a smaller scale March Madness. That's my stance.

I'm actually going to agree with you here. The playoff system needs to be expanded to really show what teams can consistently play well.

However with the current system the bowls aren't a problem.
