He wouldn't, but the threat or rumour could get him more $$$

How does he top what he's done at Alabama? Has he created unrealistic expectations for the rest of his career because of the phenomenal success he's had there?

Expectations are lower at Texas, there's no state income tax and there's more money to pay him.

Those are two bad examples..lol. Mike Dubose had no business being a head coach of a program like Alabama in the first place, and the overall results showed as much. Dennis Franchione jump ship when the NCAA sanctions will took effect only to end up being worse off at Texas A&M

Im not really surprised by these rumors. Lets face it Saban is probably the best football coach in college football right now. So it would expected for other programs like Texas to try to lure him away from Alabama. I know fans of other SEC schools and others pray for this day to come sooner than later, but they would be better served if they focus on their own programs (looking at you Auburn fans).

For those expected a fan meltdown if Saban does leave might be a bit disappointed. Most rational Bama fans know that at some point Saban will step down and move on to something else, that happens at any program. Look at LSU for example fans didnt riot after Saban left for the Dolphins, and their program was down much longer than Bama's was before he became the head coach there, and their program didnt take a major hit after he left either.

Texas just hired a new AD this week, who is about 10 years younger than Saban. This looks unlikely to happen.

I don't see it happening. It'd be far easier for him to keep his empire alive in Alabama than it would be to rebuild Texas.

If Texas wants a new coach they should probably cast their eyes 100 miles to the north and take a look at what Art Briles is doing in Waco.
