Growing up in ACC country - gotta give Duke some love. They have been on the bottom forever.

Good to finally see them do well. First 10 win season ever. Congrats.

Will be going for them vs. Fla St.

All they have to do is to beat Florida State, and we will see Ohio State vs. Alabama.

Winner of Auburn/Mizzou.

If you don't win your conference you don't get a title shot. Period.

What about 2011? Alabama didn't even win its own division but still won the whole shootin' match.

As it stands, as long as both FSU and OSU win on Saturday, that's your MNC game. The SEC fans will cry fowl, especially if Auburn wins (but to be honest, I think Mizzou wins... AU's been far more lucky than good, and will probably be a bit hung over from the Iron Bowl win, whereas the Missouri Tigers will be fully prepared). If Mizzou wins, yes, there will probably be still a bit of an argument for the SEC champ going to the title game, but Mizzou is getting absolutely none of the love Auburn is getting - and even if they beat Auburn, they still won't get the preferential treatment because 1) they're only beginning to pay their dues in the SEC and 2) the East is a much, much weaker division than the West.

Duke's success, Baylor's success, and Auburn's turnaround is proof positive to me that it's really a coach's game.

I agree, they shouldn't have had a chance at the title.

Too many nightmare scenarios when you require a team to win the conference, especially now that most conferences have a championship game. You're only a couple of upsets away from having a three or four loss team get in ahead of a team with a better record.

Of course, now that there's a playoff, it probably won't be as big of a deal. I do think a conference title would be a good way to do a tiebreaker for a playoff spot though. Think we'll see it come up a lot as long as the playoff is limited to 4 teams.
