If the SEC is an awesome conference, how can the rise of Mizzou be explained? They were not suppose to be playing for an SEC title two years after leaving the B12. Not in the vaunted SEC.
I live in south Carolina and we came from behind to beat Mizzou on the road to give them their only lost. but the tigers have a good team, you have to give them credit on that. if they were still in the big 12 they would be the better team in that conference, also they didn't play bama this year either. when I said the sec was awesome, I didn't excluded mizzou. I was talking about the overall conference.

Who said Missouri was underrated? Missouri was ranked #4 in 2007 and in the top 20 in 2008 and 2010.

True.
But you and I know that pro-SECers historically have dismissed them and anyone else not part of the SEC, saying something along the lines of ''they wouldn't be as good in the SEC or had to play an SEC schedule."

I think Mizzou's using different types of personnel in the SEC than they were in Big12. They're recruiting well, and balanced. I think the SEC is probably as weak as it's been in a few years, but that happens every few years. The SEC will probably have a really strong conference next year when a more mature LSU team - loaded with talented but currently developing underclassmen - takes the field. Bama will reload. Auburn will be back. Georgia will be reloaded, though it will be interesting to see who their replacement for Murray is.
I would NEVER underestimate an Urban Meyer coached team. He knows how to prepare a team for a big game and he's a winner.
Yep. And being that he spent time in the SEC, he knows their brand of football, and how to beat them. However; I don't want to look past Michigan State. They have a pretty solid defense.
Give Nick Saban a month to prepare for Ohio State and see what happens.
The same could be said for Urban Meyer. Give him a month and I bet you he has Ohio State ready for whoever they end up facing in their bowl game.
In the end I think this year just really shows why an 8 team playoff is the only fair way to determine the champion.
