Has nothing to do with that. No way a player's gonna pass up $10-15 million to play for a meaningless title and risk blowing out his knee for good. He probably got wind of the fact that his stock slide from top two to the bottom half of the top ten. Thanks to the knee injury.

I don't care. When Mariota recovers, he's gonna show the scouts what's up. The scouts who passed on this guy are gonna get fired. MM is arguably one of the best prospects to come out in a long time.

So he'll get his chance to pound Texas in the Alamo Bowl?

I'm thinking that Oregon needs to get some bigger boys on the offensive line or Mariota is going to wind up a cripple by the end of the 2014 season.

Yeah, our offensive line had some major issues this year. The gaurd play was simply pathetic, but hopefully we can get that worked out. Just got a commit from Haniteli Louisi- 6'5 295. So, hopefully he can come in and contribute. We are trying to get bigger- we have 2 young OL that are 295 and 305 repectively.

Mariota had a grade 2 mcl, hence no/limited zone read for the last 4 regular season games. That really takes us out of our offense. I'll be at the Alamo Bowl with a bunch of other Ducks, and a few Longhorns. It is payback for that Lyles b.s. Too bad Major Applewhite isn't playing, because that punk needs to get smashed.

Now, let's hope the Oregon team at the beginning of the year shows up and not the team that finished the year.

lol @ Oregon gettin' embarrassed by the Lyles thing. You give a known slimeball like him $25,000, expect to have some of it rub off on yourself. It was a good lesson for a program that isn't used to being involved in "scandals", however minor.

Seastrunk sure wasn't worth it to the Ducks, was he?

Applewhite? A punk? You mean that taunting business in the Holiday Bowl back 12 years or so when he led the comeback against Washington? What of it?

But I don't think the Ducks have anything to worry about with Texas, the team is discombobulated with the butt-kicking by Baylor and now the Brown/staying/quitting/firing business.

We will be at the Alamo Bowl too - have 50 yard line "option" tickets every year. This time we're going for the food at a private tailgate. And the game? In 20 years I have never bought any alcohol at the stadium bars, but this one might be the exception. lol

I actually loved Applewhite as a player. A lot of knowledgeable Ducks have a firm belief that it was Applewhite, or at least Texas, sounding the bell about Lyles. Lyles was an idiot, but he is no worse than many of the camp, AAU in ball, many of the recruiting experts. Actually pathetic, even racist, how the media dubbed certain people street agents. But, we're good. We always maintained we did nothing wrong and the NCAA agreed for the most part.

$25000 is chump change in recruiting. Oh, and taunting UW is awesome. They are chumps, have chump fans who live in the past, and deserve all the taunting they get.

Should be interesting what teams come out. Both are banged up and playing well below their talent. We should blow y'all out, but we should have blown Zona and the Beavs out. So, who knows?

Here's to a game of no injuries. And no snowballs.
