Who says Saban is out of the picture? Signing a contract means zippadeedoodah these days. But Nick would not be a good fit at UT even though he would continue his winning ways here.

Shaw
Briles
Harbaugh
Strong
Malzahn

But who knows what Alexander & Powers will do?

Whoever steps in will have a very good stable of talent and a great pool to recruit.

Yeah, apparently Nick Saban's contract doesn't have a buyout so he's not totally out of the picture. Even though Saban signed a better contract with Alabama, he might change his mind if Texas offers him enough money.

Whoever the new coach ends up being, like you said ScoPro, they'll have plenty of talent to work with.

Who is Alexander? Do you mean Patterson (the AD)?

Your list is a good one. On one hand I think Briles, as good a coach as he is, is too rough around the edges for Texas. He seems a lot like David McWilliams in personality. I think Briles would lose his cool when he is required to "not another interview for the Longhorn network!"

Yes, I meant Patterson.

The LHN gig seemed to bug Brown quite a bit, messing up a lot of his CEO coaching time.

However, his new "job" as special assistant to Powers will give him plenty of time to do talking head analysis on the regular ESPN channels. He's very good at bloviating.
