That isnt losing $50,000 since they never paid that much. They lost $100 and didnt get $50,000.

Agree. He basically bought a $100 lotto ticket, with a smaller payout.

yep, he only lost his $100 bet and he could have easily hedged it to cover his $100 or even guarantee some payout at the cost of the eroding the big payout

if he were really on top of it he would have hedged the $100 to start and then make a larger play on FSU at the half

As others said...he lost $100, no big deal. Like hitting 3 of 4 on a parlay...still a loser.
