Disagree. They were a 2-10 team whether they fired Weis or not. Looking ahead, they don't have another W on their schedule unless they seriously luck out. Even Texas Tech is going to use them. I say let their DC audition for the job. Couldn't do much worse.
He was a godawful coach who rode to notoriety on Tom Brady's arm and has misfired everywhere else. I was astonished that Kansas picked him up in the first place given how badly he wet the bed at Notre Dame.
It's awfully hard to win football games at the University of Kansas. Coach Mangino was the only Kansas football coach in two generations to have a winning record and that was barely above .500.
I wonder why Coach Weis thought he could rehabilitate his Irish-sullied reputation by jumping into a black hole.
Just shows you how crappy Texas is - get fired because Kansas boosters figured it to be an easy win?
But Charley Weiss ain't hurtin' - he got paid $19 million to get fired from Notre Dame, and now $7 million from KU. Not a bad gig ..... $26 million.
I heard that on the radio. Amazing how a coach who clearly should have stayed as an offensive coordinator in the NFL can be paid this kind of money for doing such a lousy job.
At the end of the day coaching football at Kansas is a lot like coaching basketball at Nebraska...nothing more than an afterthought at a school dominated by a different revenue sport.
