MD is a good BB add though.

I'm all for traditional, geographic conferences with no more than 12 member schools. To that end, I'd much rather see Notre Dame in the Big Ten. They are an appropriate geographic fit and already have at least three historic rivals within the Big Ten.

The strength of the ACC is basketball and non-revenue sports. That's where Maryland belongs. Other than FSU and Clemson, the ACC schools tolerate football as long as the sport doesn't do any damage to the school's reputation. These schools aren't afraid to throw football under the bus. I know Maryland's done it on three separate occasions dating back to 1954. And UVA, UNC, NCSU, Duke and WF have gone through very long periods playing mediocre football.
