Next up Miami. This is a huge game. If Duke can beat Miami, I think they are capable of beating every team on their schedule.
Only two schools on their remaining schedule beat them last year - Pitt 58-55 in a shoot out and GT early in the season 38-14. They went on to beat VT, Miami, Virginia, Wake and UNC.
Doesn't look to be just a basketball school anymore...
Every time Duke rings up another win, I bet the people at Ole Miss kick themselves even further for firing Cutcliffe.
Of course, Freeze is a decent coach as well. But in between the time they fired Cutcliffe and hired Freeze, there was a lot of wandering in the wilderness for those guys.
And here we are 8-1. Every time Duke wins, the next game becomes what is probably the most important game in 50-60 years.
It's waaaaaaaaay too early and a very tough road, but as a 1 loss team, I have heard a few people mention Duke having a shot at the playoffs. To have a chance, they'll have to close out the regular season beating VT/UNC/Wake and then beat Florida St in the ACC championship game. Beating FSU definitely seems possible this year...they've struggled against Virginia, Louisville, ND, NCSU, Clemson and OSU.
