And weaker than Baylor's performance at WVU.

This would all be resolved by a 32 team play-off like they have in every OTHER NCAA division in football. Of course, that might really expose how weak some of the major conferences really are ...

On top of a 12 game regular season? That's just too many games and too much of a physical toll to ask of student athletes even if you cut out a couple of games in the year.

True. College football is tough on student athletes and could not safely go into a lengthy playoff system without much injury as well as loss of academics. The season needs to remain as short as possible while still arriving at a bonafide champion.

Many fans, coaches and media are not happy with what this committee is deciding, because it clearly seems to go against what they've been used to in the past - such as an undefeated team like FSU currently holding down the 4th spot. There are other things which this committee seems not to be concerned with, such as previous head-to-head games between two good teams.

However, people wanted playoffs, and here we are, albeit by way of a committee. People may have to understand that what they wished for, they may not get exactly as they had hoped!

FCS has a lot fewer members. And three of the conferences in FCS did not participate as recently as 2012.

You folks are the ones that are complaining that the current "play-off" is not fair because certain teams are not involved.

I DO KNOW ONE THING WITH COMPLETE CERTAINTY. At the end of the year, we will know which teams in FCS, DIvII and DivIII are the best.

Go Wisconsin-Whitewater.

I think the Pac 12 Championship last night is evidence enough why we don't need an 8 team playoff. #2 thrashes #7 and they've already beat up #8. It was a horrible game to watch and as much as I despise Oregon they shouldn't have to play yet another game against a #7 or #8.

Curious...why do you despise Oregon? You must be either a Husky or Beaver (but you are neither). No one else truly hates the Ducks. Why would they? Who really hates the Ducks other than regional rivals? You are not from the Northwest, so...
