I like BYU and maybe New Mexico. I like the idea of western expansion, I can't see many eastern schools as a part of the Big XII. But I think the conference needs to return to 12 teams as soon as possible. No conference championship game probably cost TCU or Baylor a shot in the College Football Playoff.

There's no "probably" about it.

Might be a moot point, starting in 2016:

College football conference title game restrictions to be relaxed by 2016

TCU spent the last 15 years climbing a ladder to prove they belong with the "big boys".

The Frogs' day is coming...

We've already missed out big on Louisville because Tejas and some of the little schools such as Kansas St./Iowa St. didn't want to add anybody else as it would cut in to their precious profit share.

Big XII needs tp add teams or just concede defeat as a lesser conference/non-Power 5 and die.

Making the safe assumption that the Big XII will never add teams, I say let the Big XII die and let OU go to the SEC West and pound on A&M again! :-)

It was one of the schools considered to join the ACC a couple of years ago, but its poor APR (Academic Progress Report) record made the ACC hesitant to invite them. Once they improve they'll be front and center on their expansion radar, especially if schools like Louisville bolt toward the Big 12 (giving WVU a travel partner) or less likely, the SEC (yeah, it would give UK an in-state, intraconference rival, but the Kentucky brass would probably do all they can to block it).

Why would Louisville leave the ACC for the Big XII?

Exactly. Ain't happening. Big XII struckout big time on Ville. Thanks Big XII leadership for very poor leadership and reactive tendencies rather than be proactive.
