For much of the year the Sec west dominated the rankings. Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss & Mississippi State were all in the top 5 at one point.

But they went 0-fer in the bowls. The Mississippi schools really laid an egg. I guess other conferences can ball too. I'm not a hater though (maybe ESPN), the sec is still the best football conference at this time.

Agree 100%. Grew up in the deep South and went to one year of HS there. Football is everything. At my HS - there was far too much emphasis on football, IMO, to the detriment of all else.

Last time I checked, it was a thread about Southeastern Conference football. If you want to start a thread on having a BCS system for academics, I might be game, but let's do it in another forum.
Thread re-opened for now.

Just a reminder here-no personal attacks.

The sec will be fine. They still are a decent conference. I think a&m should make a huge improvement next season. They just stole LSU's defensive coordinator. That's a good hire. Let's not forget most of their starters are true freshman this year. They had the youngest team in the sec west this year.

I'm a Big10 guy and have no problem admitting that they're still the best conference..They're just not as dominant as Espn and SEC fans like to believe.

You're average conf. has maybe 2 legit nat. champ. contenders year in, year out..The SEC will always have 3 or 4.

(My brain still tells me that A&M is a Big12 team..They don't seem like an SEC team.)

I'm just glad to see Alabama lose. Hopefully all their "fans" that came out of nowhere 5 years ago will go away.

I get that OSU has some obnoxious fans and many people don't care for them but some of the hate defies logic.
Every fanbase has obnoxious fans...the SEC's are far worse than us Buckeye fans.

Total jack wagons that don't deserve the team they have.

Add that to fact that they are literally the only legit national title contending program in their entire region and get to fatten up on weaker teams and you get your recipe for hate.

That night was our lowpoint as a fan base.
I stopped several fellow fans from doing it. It's one thing to banter a bit back and forth...thats fun...there was a lot of drunken idiots that night...still not as bad as I've seen at English Premier Soccer League games but still bad.
They've done a better job since then. BTW, if you think that was bad, never go to Penn State.
