I just saw that ESPN posted their rankings of the Power 5 conferences. This is how they ranked them:

1. PAC-12
2. SEC
3. Big 12
4. Big 10
5. ACC

I agree with that. I think the top 2 are close. I think the Big 12 and 10 are close and I agree with the ACC being number 5. What do you think?

I don't see the PAC twelve near the top. I say since USC doesn't get the recruits its number 4. The SEC is definitely at the top by not only results but system of play. Just as OU adopted it with Meyer and we see the results. If you can't play defense then you can't compete with those that do at top colleges. Depth also matters. We saw OU adopt this more pro like system and what it did for them. So I see PAC 12 at number four. Oregon had speed but not size or depth. They were beat on both sides of scrimmage all night. If you were a recruit would you not a want to play were the system is like NFL play so as to have best chance in NFL.

Well according to the final top 25 polls the Pac-12 has 6 of its 12 teams ranked in the top 25. Unless im being delusional again, that would make us one of the top conferences?

I would have agreed if Oregon had been beaten so convincingly, but with the PAC just barely having a better winning percentage than the SEC, the next question is, between the two conferences, which one has the *best* teams of the two. I think Alabama's maybe just still a little bit better than Oregon. At this point, maybe it's even Steven.

In all fairness, I don't think there were really any good defensive teams this year. TCU probably played the most consistent defense once they got their act together.

No way.

B10 has two of the top 5 in the country.

PAC 12 does not belong even close to this. Way overrated as is the B12.

I am still going

SEC Still the conference in my opinion to beat.
B10 THE CHAMPS Ohio St, No 5 Mich St, Wisconsin, Nebraska and I see Michigan coming back soon.
ACC Conference is getting better and better.
PAC 12 With Oregon now without a QB they wont be a power. No other teams that good.
B12 LOL Oklahoma and Texas are going downhill and Baylor and TCU wont play over their heads next year.

Pac 12 and B12 wont be able to hang with the SEC, B10 or ACC next year. They have nothing left in the tank and the fluke seasons by Baylor and TCU along with all those really bad teams moves them to the bottom.

Meaning?

Ohio State shut down 3 Heisman candidates and just killed Mariottas value in the NFL by making him look very not ready for the NFL.

He will be another Johnny football in the NFL. All hype and no play.

Come on he had a hard time taking hits from Ohio States players, the NFL players will destroy him.

Ohio State played two solid defensive games against Wisconsin and Alabama - not taking anything away from them. I was just saying that, in my view, the team that most consistently played good defense down the stretch was TCU. That doesn't mean TCU would beat Ohio State or Alabama - for the record, I don't think they would have.

I think Mariota could be a good NFL player. I knew Johnny Football was going to get off to a bad start. For one thing, he's on the wrong team, but he's just too immature and full of himself to know how unprepared he is for the big stage. Mariota at least seems to have the maturity to know he needs to improve his game. He also has a better arm that Manziel.

Unless you're an exceptional quarterback, most QBs need the right situation and mentoring to make it in the NFL. Put Mariota on the Patriots and let him back up Brady, and he's probably gonna be alright. He might do well with Chip Kelly behind Foles. Put him on the Browns or with the Raiders and it's a different story.
