As everyone knows, we went through a similar controversy with Bernie Fine. I will say this: many Syracuse alum did raise questions about the Fine situation that got them vilified as 'enablers' of molestation. There were passions that went back and forth on both sides!

Having said that, I can understand the passions that have gone back and forth at Happy Valley. We all agree that no one, I repeat no one, wants to have a crime like that on their campus, or anywhere else; and that safeguards must be put in place so that molestation never happens again!
There seriously needs to be a way of screening and filtering out these types of secretive, devious and extremely sick individuals.

Those types of crimes will happen, people like that can be very sneaky.

It's how the school, it's fans and alumni respond to such incidents that IMO define the event.

Put another way, if they drag Sandusky off in cuffs the day after the shower incident, Penn State rightfully doesn't get drug into the mud over the actions of a single sick individual.

The Paterno Way?

Hold yourselves up as everyone's better and then get exposed as a horrible fraud placing football pride above the safety and innocence of children, even as those children are most viciously victimized... Yeah. What type of reaction did you expect?
This...Penn State got off easy to be honestly as this was far worse than what happened at SMU and they got the death penalty...putting football before the welfare of kids...
The guy that witnessed the assault shouldn't have waited a day to tell Joe Pa, he should have called the police right then and there...and waited there til they showed up..and if any attempt at a cover up by the administation began, he should have been screaming it out to everyone what he saw and how it was being covered up...

The program was always just as dirty as any other big time college football program..we all knew it too..that cult of Joe Pa got exactly what it deserved...total disgrace

This subject has been discussed enough. When this story broke out three years ago several threads were created, I narrowed it down to one thread, which got over 600 posts. Dozens of posts were deleted, several members were kicked off this message because they created new id's just to troll with the Penn State alumni who posts here and also put porno on this thread. I've given this latest thread several months, it's now time to move forward.
