4 team playoff is reality check for all conferences.

1-TCU
2-USC or Arizona
3-OSU (tough games against Michigan and Va Tech impacts my ranking)
4-Auburn

This will be a tough season for the Buckeyes because of the hype, last years championship and the schedule. Go Buckeyes!

Michigan is probably a year or two away from being a serious threat. Sparty is the one B1G game that has me worried.

i`m a bama and an sec fan but i think we will be left out this year .. i dont like that bama does`nt have the quarterback situation settled yet .. and i dont think anyone else will go without 2 losses .. some lucky undefeated or one loss unknown will make the final 4 at the end of the season ..

Ohio St. is currently ranked number 1 and they are scheduled to play only one team in the preseason top 25. Alabama is scheduled to play 9 top 25 teams. Wow, what a difference.

UNT is an alma mater (one of them at least) Last season was very disappointing. For some reason, the recruiting classes have dropped in talent, at least on paper. I am always concerned about the QB situation there, especially McNulty, but part of what clicked in 2013 was the Mean Green Defense, a kind of style of hitting hard, and rotating players frequently to stay fresh through 4 quarters. That was not the case in 2014, and coaching is partly to blame there.

IF we can win the first game against SMU, then that may be momentum coming into home against Rice, with a road trip to Iowa, South Mississippi and then a patsy game against division 3C Portland College for the Blind and Lame. Potential to go 4-1 exists, but if the team is 2-3 after this, I would think the lack of confidence will carry them to 2-9 and a shot at ESPNs bottom 10. If the team is 4-1 then the confidence level and such may carry them into a bowl. Which is what I hope, but do not expect.

Nope, stating a fact. How it will all turn out and which teams will wind up in the top after the season is over no one knows.

I know preseason rankings are usually garbage but Tennessee and Arkansas in the top-25? And Mississippi State not in the top-25?
