Iowa State looking ahead to their "bowl game" with Iowa must be the reason they let FCS U. of Northern Iowa knock them off. Again.

When UNI does this to the 2 biggies of the state it always tickles me knowing that their roster is chock full of players that weren't "good enough" to be offered scholarships for the Hawkeyes and Cyclones.

I think Iowa and Iowa St. should both play northern Iowa every year. I'm surprised they don't.

Without doing the googling and referring to my foggy memory I do remember one year that UNI beat both Iowa State and Iowa.

Being a U. of South Dakota fan first (actually followed by IA Hawkeyes next) I enjoyed the year that USD beat the U. of Minnesota Gophers up in Minneapolis and the Gophers won only one Big 10 game that year and it was against the Hawkeyes. I had bragging rights over both of those teams that year.

It would be great if UNI played both teams for fans, but not really so great year in and year out for Iowa and Iowa State. Really, they have very little to gain and most everything to lose.

I went to Clemson but Clemson-USC really is not a great rivalry. We beat them handily forever then Spurrier's defense & a throw happy Clemson quarterback made for a 5 year USC run. But truth be told FSU is the big game for Clemson. And older fans still view UGA as the biggest rivalry.

When we lost the National Championship game- the Bama fans leaving the stadium were telling our fans they hoped we played Auburn that hard at the start of the season. Interrupting you National Title celebration to wish ill on your instate rival is a pretty big statement.
Clemson just... just returned to top tier, national prominence after three decades, and now you wanna downplay the state's biggest rivalry and a rivalry viewed by national sports pundits as one of the more noteworthy in college football...

and the way y'all looked against Troy, I'm sure you'll be back to valuing that rivalry again. And Georgia doesn't even acknowledge, yall. Get outta here..

Gotta love the uninformed, lol! Clemson has historically owned the rivalry with South Carolina, although our games are often competitive and I certainly won't downplay the importance of our rivalry. As for UGA, we routinely raid Georgia for some choice recruits every year and the Dawgs want no part of showcasing us further. This was Vince Dooley's real reason for cancelling the annual series with us after 1987.

Gotta love that Clemson education... now just where did I mention anything about the rivalry's results in my post?

And where did I mention anything about recruiting?

I get it, you're a Clemson hater. That's OK, we're pretty used to it. Other than that, I'm not sure what your point is???
