Take Houston and BYU. Cincinnati would be the next best.

Good idea- Colorado cannot compete in the PAC 12, while Boise St would be very competitive.

The Big Ten has 14 teams.

Houston can only come if it's replacing Fighting Baptist U.

BYU is the no brainer with Cincy close in hand for West Virginy.

Not really a fan of going to 14, but I heard on Sports Talk radio here in OKC that it would mean an extra 500 million over the life of the next TV contract. The Big XII has the media rights to the Big IV. If we're looking at 14 then I say BYU to round out the west division and Cincy, Memphis, and UCF for the east division.

East Carolina wants into the Big 12, too - SBNation.com

Dear ECU, We are still upset your administration fired Ruffin McNeill. We vote nay.

Sincerely, Big 12

14 teams is too many. Unless you have 10 game conference schedules (which is not going to happen), 14 teams is too many. At least the Big Ten is moving to a 9 game conference schedule so it won't be as bad as the SEC and the ACC. Alabama for example will only play Arkansas once every 3 years unless they meet in the SEC title game.

Maybe with some more time it will feel normal, but West Virginia being in the Big 12 feels weird. Same goes for Rutgers and Maryland being in the Big Ten and Missouri and Texas A&M being in the SEC.

We will gladly take A&M and Mizzwho (although we would prefer Nebraska) back in the Big XII today. No questions asked. This is your home.

Oh yeah.. Rutgers and Maryland.

We get that you have some weird disdain towards Baylor, but you can't honestly believe that UH would somehow be better for the Big 12 than Baylor. Not only does Baylor have the second highest academic ranking of Big 12 schools, a lot of the athletic programs typically perform well. What does UH bring to the conference besides Tom Herman? UH's academic rankings would place it dead last in the conference, bringing the average even further down than it already is. It looks like their women basketball team won an NCAA tournament game about 12 years ago, but I dont think the mens basketball team has won an NCAA tournament game in over 30 years..

Yeah, I'm not sure I care for the idea of 14 schools either. And given the choices out there, the conference doesn't need do be adding schools just for the sake of having more. 500 million divided by 14 teams is a little over 35 million a school. Im not sure how long the contract might be, but that would likely only be a couple million more a year per school. Not sure thats worth it to add 2 more schools.

Bite your tongue, fisherman!
The farmers plowed their bed and they seem to enjoy being used like a $2 hooker by the SEC powers, so let 'em wallow in 6th or 7th place over there forever.

Mizzou, ok. I'm partial to them as my dad was Class of 1933. But they seem to be happy playing with the Deliverance boys.

Addendum:

The Capital City's "hip" motto is "Keep Austin Weird", but I think A&M and its traditions take first place in that department. The SEC is welcome to keep them permanently.
