The Clemson/NC State game reminded me how much I hate kickers.

All right. Here's the picks for Week 8.

(23) Miami vs. Virginia Tech
BYU vs. (18) Boise State
(25) USF vs. Temple
Oregon vs. Cal
(15) Wisconsin vs. Iowa
Texas vs. Kansas State
Indiana vs. Northwestern
UCF vs. Connecticut
NC State vs. (7) Louisville
(22) North Carolina vs. Virginia
Colorado vs. Stanford
TCU vs. (10) West Virginia
Eastern Michigan vs. (14) Western Michigan
(6) Texas A&M vs. (1) Alabama
Memphis vs. (24) Navy
(17) Utah vs. UCLA
(16) Arkansas vs. Auburn
East Carolina vs. Cincinnati
Mississippi State vs. Kentucky
Michigan State vs. Maryland
(19) Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech
(2) Ohio State vs. Penn State
Ole Miss vs. (20) LSU
Washington State vs. Arizona State

Pick Overall Record: 83-63
Pick Overall Last Week: 17-6

Here are my picks.
Miami vs. Virginia Tech (I think VT will bounce back at home after the Syracuse loss.)
BYU vs. Boise State (Boise State will keep on rollin'.)
USF vs. Temple (I'll take the Bulls over a so-so Temple team.)
Oregon vs. Cal (Helfrich's time is up.)
Wisconsin vs. Iowa (It's about time Wisconsin wins a game.)
Texas vs. Kansas State (How long has it been since we've beaten K-State at Manhattan?)
Indiana vs. Northwestern (Hey, Northwestern seems to be finally getting it together.)
UCF vs. Connecticut (This is a guess.)
NC State vs. Louisville (I do not think Louisville will have the trouble with NC State that Clemson did.)
North Carolina vs. Virginia (Virginia has improved, but not enough to upset the Tar Heels at home.)
Colorado vs. Stanford (This is a bad year for Stanford so far. And McCaffrey, the guy who is a big part of Stanford's offense, is injured.)
TCU vs. West Virginia (I think West Virginia can win the conference this year.)
Eastern Michigan vs. Western Michigan (Didn't expect this game to ever be listed, did ya? Even more surprising is the fact that EMU is 5-2, and has a legit shot at going to a bowl. I'll take the Broncos here, though.)
Texas A&M vs. Alabama (This is my bold pick of the week. This A&M team is a lot better than the ones we've seen the past 2-3 seasons IMO. And i think they have a shot at pulling off the upset.)
Memphis vs. Navy (I expect Navy to win a close one.)
Utah vs. UCLA (UCLA will be the next team A&M beats in the opening week to go 6-6...But where does that 6th win come?)
Arkansas vs. Auburn (True that Auburn is looking better, but they beat up a bad MSU team. I think Razorbacks win a close one.)
East Carolina vs. Cincinnati (This is another guess.)
Mississippi State vs. Kentucky (Yes. I know Kentucky's defense is bad. but this is the worst MSU team in some time.)
Michigan State vs. Maryland (Michigan State is bad right now. Presidential election years just ain't Sparty's years at all.)
Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech (I expect an easy win for Oklahoma.)
Ohio State vs. Penn State (Sorry, PSU fans.)
Ole Miss vs. LSU (Orgeron's improved LSU by a lot, although they have played two crap teams.)
Washington State vs. Arizona State (This will be a fun shootout to watch.)

(23) Miami vs. Virginia Tech. Coming off 2 straight losses, Blacksburg, VA on a Thursday night is not the place you want to be, especially on a short week like the Canes are. I'll get the rest of the selections in and my totals from last week later tonight or tomorrow, but wanted to make sure I got this one in.

BYU vs. (18) Boise State. The Broncos on the smurf turf.
(25) USF vs. Temple. Hopefully, I don't come to regret this come Sunday morning
Oregon vs. Cal. Cal at home, Oregon is a disaster
(15) Wisconsin vs. Iowa. Wisconsin should bounce back against Iowa.
Texas vs. Kansas State. Texas gets a road win in the little apple.
Indiana vs. Northwestern. One of the kids on my basketball team is visiting Northwestern this weekend and heading to the game, so how can I not pick them??
UCF vs. Connecticut. Huskies at home.
NC State vs. (7) Louisville. NC State usually plays Clemson close because it's a rivalry game, I don't see them playing Louisville as close.
(22) North Carolina vs. Virginia. UNC has seemed to play to its opponents level this year. Get crushed at home by Virginia Tech, win @ Florida State the next week. Win @ Miami, lose at Virginia the next week?? I'll take this for my upset of the week.
Colorado vs. Stanford. I want to pick Colorado, even moreso with McCaffrey injured, but I just can't get myself to do it on the Farm.
TCU vs. (10) West Virginia. Seems since both entered the Big 12, the games have been really close. I'll take the 'Eers at home in a squeaker.
Eastern Michigan vs. (14) Western Michigan. Can't believe EMU only needs 1 more win to become bowl eligible .
(6) Texas A&M vs. (1) Alabama. Alabama is the best team in the country by 600 miles. Stupid to pick against them until they prove otherwise (i.e lose a game).
Memphis vs. (24) Navy. If this was at Memphis, I may pick Memphis, even though Navy beat them at the Liberty Bowl last year.
(17) Utah vs. UCLA. Well....I guess this is my second upset of the week. UCLA's gotta turn it around at some point right??
(16) Arkansas vs. Auburn. Auburn's at home, and Arkansas coming off a big win.
East Carolina vs. Cincinnati. ECU is still on my $#!t list for the rest of the year.
Mississippi State vs. Kentucky. 2 bad teams. Give me the bad team at home.
Michigan State vs. Maryland. Sparty, woof!
(19) Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech. Gonna be a long night for Tech fans...
(2) Ohio State vs. Penn State. ...And a long night for Penn State fans.
Ole Miss vs. (20) LSU. They've played 2 crap teams and this is definitely a step up from the 2 teams they've played since the Orgeron change, but at least the Tigers seem competent.
Washington State vs. Arizona State. Yes, the Cougs are playing well, but I can't pick a team on the road that lost to an FCS team at home.

I thought the BYU/Boise State game was on Friday, so in the spirit of competition I'll give myself a loss for that game.
