As a college football fan and anti-PC crusader, I thought this was funny in a tongue-and-cheek way:

Saturdays in the Fall :: Your Team's Mascot Is Offensive and Should Be Changed

The USC one cracked me up. But the article actually raises a good question, is there any college team out there that could turn into a pariah like the Redskins on account of its mascot? Florida State dodged a bullet when the Seminole tribe formally offered its endorsement. Who else could find themselves on the hot seat?

All it takes to make a mascot not offensive is big payola to an Indian tribes leaders. Florida State could afford this. Most Native Americans look upon school mascot names as a non issue.

Extremely funny article! However, someone out there will definitely take this very seriously.

An extremely poor attempt at humor.

There's a time and a place for everything. Yelling out "GO GATORS!" at families visiting Disney World or "GO CANES!" after Andrew, Katrina or Sally is in poor taste, but people know that when they do such things.

If the chief(s) says that the Seminoles, Redskins and Jeep Grand Cherokees are okay, then they are okay with me. Just make sure you have the last one in park with the brake on before you walk away from it.

That Fighting Irish caricature is pretty heinous.

State legislatures around the country are taking a dim view of Indian-themed mascots. Trying to pay away the offensiveness of a name could lead to your team being unable to play state university schools in other states.

Why not. It's not like state legislators have anything important to do.
