well with utah winning tonight over colorado, and teh cats losing to washington state, the cats rose bowl hopes have been dashed. now we can play spoiler though by beating ASU next week with the double bonus of becoming bowl eligible.

As I predicted, the North comes down to WA vs WSU. I am a die-hard Husky fan, but I think WSU has the goods to go to the Rose Bowl this year. Pains me to say it! But I would be OK with the Cougs winning the Pac-12, and maybe the playoffs.

WA vs WSU: Fox Friday 5:30 Pacific

Washington wins the Pac-12 North with a lackluster Cougar effort tonight.

Washington vs. Utah for the championship. WA already beat the Utes. But this will still be a challenge in Santa Clara.

Rose Bowl is waiting for the victor, and a top 10 ranking.

Hats off to the Cougs for that class act by their marching band. It was a fun match overall, and the snow made it even more special. Usually the harsh winter environment is in their favor, but I guess that factor doesn't work as well with the Air Raid offense. Still, I hope they get to go to a good bowl game and come away with a win.

Definitely going to be a knock down, drag out battle between the Huskies and the Utes this Friday. Looking forward to it.

Yeah, at least a third of the PAC-12 teams underperformed this year. Not good. But at least Cal. and WSU rose above expectations, for the most part.

Underperformed against whom? We kicked the **** out of each other, while other lop-sided conferences skated to easy victories.

Bah! Too drunk and suffering from a cold to post further!

Nobody at the top really under-performed this season in the Pac12. Yes, there is some parity, and that makes for a 2-3 loss in conference for most teams.

Washington State: (7-2)) Best conference record, but loss to Washington and loses on the tie-breaker, plus a 6-string loss to in-state rival.

Washington: (7-2) They won when they needed to win

Utah (6-3) A somewhat weak South, but Utah had just enough.

Underperforming: Yep, there are quite a few: UCLA was dismal from the start, but showed improvement toward the end of the season. USC was expected to win the South but came nowhere near. Colorado was the biggest disappointment in the Pac, starting off hot then completely collapsing. Oregon State has a long ways to go, but there is hope with new coach in Corvallis.

They're expecting an empty stadium for tonight's Pac-12 championship, although I'm sure it will draw a TV audience. It's tough to follow right after rivalry week. Maybe they need to delay the game a week to build up the hype? But I suppose that will conflict with the bowl game selection.
