Oh, because he did so well coaching Ole Miss. He went something like 3-21 against the SEC back then.

Don't look for big improvement with LSU for a while.

When you only win 10 games over three seasons your SEC win total isn't going to be great.

To be fair, he recruited well and the team had back to back 9 win seasons after he left, largely with the kids he recruited.

Also when he was interim at USC they went 6-2.

I say give him the shot and see how he does.
