South Carolina was a 'darling' in those 5 years or so that Spurrier had them good. they were winning 11 games a season.

Meh. Spurrier had three 11-win seasons, mainly at the expense of a depleted SECE. But never has won the conference or made it to anything besides an also-ran bowl. Then the wings fell off the plane and it spiraled back down to earth spectacularly.
