reminded me of the game in 1963? Just like tonight, there was so much offense, the game went longer than usual and with no lights at the Rose Bowl(unlike now), Mel Allen doing the game on NBC-TV had a hard time seeing the last plays of the game. Chris Fowler had no trouble seeing what happened tonight obviously, since they now have lights at the Rose Bowl these days...

1. McSorley's got Aaron Rodgers mobility, but doesn't have an Aaron Rodgers arm!

2. Sam Darnold's got NFL game! That NFL-style 11-yard slant pass, and that 27-yard throw over two Penn State safeties were sick!

3. Barkley is a reminder of Ray Rice! (on field, of course!)

Sam Darnold as a redshirt freshman, IMO is much more accomplished than Andrew Luck when he was a redshirt freshman. Luck played like a great redshirt freshman, Darnold as a redshirt freshman plays like a great experienced 4 year starter. When it is all said and done, Sam Darnold may go down as the greatest quarterback in USC history.

As a Ram and Trojan fan, I think Sam Darnold is a better quarterback than Jarrod Goff right now.

Danderson,
Thanks for sharing your memories of the '63 Rose Bowl. That's awesome to hear your recount of that game. This was a very entertaining game and I think both teams have a lot to look forward to in the next season or two.

Thanks for the rundown. Haven't been able to see the Rose Bowl in years. Can't afford cable and when they took it off network TV I was shut out.
