it only goes to that tiebreaker if Texas loses to Kansas and WV beats OU.
If Texas loses to Kansas, then West Virginia and OU would automatically make the championship because Texas would have three loses in conference and would lose the tie breaker if WVU lost to OU. If Iowa State wins their game, it would be a three way tie for second with West Virginia again winning that based on who they lost to in conference play.

Right now the standings are as follows

1: Oklahoma 7-1 (victory over Iowa State) (loss to Texas)
2: West Virginia 6-2 (victory over Texas) (loss to ISU and OSU)
3: Texas 6-2 (victory over Oklahoma) (loss to WVU and OSU)
4: Iowa State 5-3 (victory over WVU) (loss to OU, Texas, and TCU) and would need a WVU and Texas to lose to force a three way tie for second.

If West Virginia beats Oklahoma and Texas beats Kansas then all three will be 7-2 with a tie. The elimination will be both WVU and Texas having beat Oklahoma in the head to head. Therefore WVU and Texas would play in the Big 12 Championship.

Today is the day!

Basically the Super Bowl for Mountaineer fans. Dare I say the most important game West Virginia has played in since the Orange Bowl. Sad to think of it like that, but we have struggled to be relevant since joining the Big 12. If we win this game, we will have accomplished multiple things we haven’t before. 1: finish at least second in the conference, 2: beat Oklahoma (since being in Big 12), and 3: possibly finish ranked in the top 10 for the first time since 2008!!! Let’s just say, if Dana Holgorsen finds some way to let a victory slip through his hands again (like being up 17 on OSU), he might be on the hot seat. I know what you all are thinking, but WV fans/donors will be calling for his head. I agree that this season will be a disappointing one without a home victory over a team that has no defense. We have yet to beat them since joining this conference. As good as Oklahoma is, this is the perfect scenario for us to win. We have the offensive power to score at will against them, but will we?

Let’s Gooooooooo

Shootout

58-55 West Virginia

Good call on the score, but too bad it went the other way.
Crazy game!

Okalahoma vs West Virginia. I was switching between this and a real game Washington vs Wash State. Sorry but that is pathetic football, no defense at all. In fact, in some circumstances, it looked like West V and Oklahoma defenses were actually trying to let the other team score. Bad football.

Crazy game!
We had to send some coal miners underground to dig up enough black gold to power up the scoreboard.

Unbelievable that West Virginia scored 56 points at home, had over 700 yards of offense, and forced 2 turnovers, and couldn’t win this game! I could blame some stupid penalties or bad decisions by Holgorsen, but the bad taste Mountaineer Nation has in their mouth after that loss is too strong to overcome!

Hate to say it, but loses in the last two games in the fashion we did has made this a disappointing season! Hopes were squashed by our inability to tackle. One or two tackles these past few weeks would have been enough to propel West Virginia into the conference title game and possibly playoff berth with some chaos.

Simply disappointing

Breaking News;

Multiple media sources reporting that Dana Holgorsen was interested in the Texas Tech Job but was not granted an interview by the AD. I’ll keep you all posted but an extra loud LOL at Dana!!!! I hope he finds a home, because his welcome in Morgantown is wearing thin after that.

Read that on a Longhorn board.
Dunno why he would want to make a lateral move like that. Unless he like flat, dusty places. Lol

Other reports are saying that Holgorsen is committed to West Virginia. Might have just be a rumor.
