You seem pretty sure that's what they gunna do, Hoss. Where do you get your optimism?

All right, y'all. Time for Week 8 picks. Here are the games for this week.

Memphis vs. Houston
Marshall vs. Mid Tenn State
Colorado State vs. New Mexico
Tulsa vs. Connecticut
Louisville vs. Florida State
Iowa vs. Northwestern
(9) Oklahoma State vs. Texas
Iowa State vs. Texas Tech
Pittsburgh vs. Duke
Boston College vs. Virginia
Syracuse vs. (7) Miami
Indiana vs. (24) Michigan State
(22) UCF vs. Navy
Illinois vs. Minnesota
Arizona State vs. Utah
(13) Oklahoma vs. Kansas State
Kentucky vs. Mississippi State
Oregon vs. UCLA
(19) LSU vs. Ole Miss
Wake Forest vs. Georgia Tech
(18) Michigan vs. (2) Penn State
(21) Auburn vs. Arkansas
(6) USC vs. (20) Notre Dame
(23) West Virginia vs. Baylor
Arizona vs. Cal
Wyoming vs. Boise State
Fresno State vs. San Diego State
Colorado vs. (16) Washington State

Pick Overall Record: 112-53
Pick Record Last Week: 21-7

Here are my picks.
Memphis vs. Houston (Memphis on the road...Houston is weird. Lose to Texas Tech, barely beat Temple, plays well against SMU, and then gets owned by a 1-win Tulsa.)
Marshall vs. Mid Tenn State (Don't know much about either one, but i know Marshall's one loss is to NC State, so...)
Colorado State vs. New Mexico (Didn't know who to pick here.)
Tulsa vs. Connecticut (Tulsa easily wins this one.)
Louisville vs. Florida State (Well...again, didn't know who to pick here.)
Iowa vs. Northwestern (I'll take Northwestern at home.)
Oklahoma State vs. Texas (Like i said in our team thread, the second half of this season will be rough for Texas.)
Iowa State vs. Texas Tech (Iowa State's coming up...i'll take them on the road over Tech.)
Pittsburgh vs. Duke (Duke should win easily.)
Boston College vs. Virginia (Yes, i know, BC beat Louisville last week...but Louisville's defense is bad. Real bad. Virginia's is not bad, so i think Virginia wins this one, gets to 6-1, and knocks BC back to reality.)
Syracuse vs. Miami (While i'd love to see Syracuse rattle off two straight upsets, i highly doubt it happens.)
Indiana vs. Michigan State (I'll take Sparty at home over this Indiana team.)
UCF vs. Navy (This is gonna be one of the better games to watch this Saturday.)
Illinois vs. Minnesota (Illinois lost to Rutgers at home. Enough said.)
Arizona State vs. Utah (I don't see Utah losing 3 straight.)
Oklahoma vs. Kansas State (Sooners on the road.)
Kentucky vs. Mississippi State (Another game that i don't know who to pick here.)
Oregon vs. UCLA (Surely, UCLA should win this one...)
LSU vs. Ole Miss (I don't have a good feeling about this game for LSU. Yes, LSU's beaten two straight Top 25 teams - Florida, who is out now, and a Top 10 Auburn team at home...but LSU does not play well in Oxford most of the time. And although Ole Miss got blown out by both Alabama teams and only put up 16 on Cal (Which is not looking like a bad loss now), as the Vanderbilt game proves, Ole Miss can put up points.)
Wake Forest vs. Georgia Tech (Yellow Jackets at home over Wake.)
Michigan vs. Penn State (Michigan's defense is pretty damn good, yes...offense, however, not so much...and that's something Penn State has. Nittany Lions at home.)
Auburn vs. Arkansas (If Auburn drops this one, Gus is fired...no excuse for losing to this crappy Arkansas team.)
USC vs. Notre Dame (Notre Dame is usually good at home, yes...don't see them beating USC, though.)
West Virginia vs. Baylor (Mountaineers on the road...Baylor finally got blown out. But at least Baylor has Kansas on their schedule, right?)
Arizona vs. Cal (Knowing Cal, after demolishing a Top 10 team at home, just watch them drop this game to Arizona. Plus, Khalil Tate's pretty damn good.)
Wyoming vs. Boise State (Tossup.)
Fresno State vs. San Diego State (I expect the Aztecs to rebound from the loss to Boise.)
Colorado vs. Washington State (Wazzu should rebound...Colorado almost lost to Oregon State, the worst team in the Pac-12.)

Marshall vs. Mid Tenn State. The artist formally known as the Blue Raiders....and Blue Raiders is so much better than just regular old "Raiders"
Colorado State vs. New Mexico. Another one I have no clue on.
Tulsa vs. Connecticut. They'll keep their bowl eligibility mathematically possible.
Louisville vs. Florida State. Louisville is extremely overrated, I see the Noles defense winning this one.
Iowa vs. Northwestern. I agree Northwestern at home.
(9) Oklahoma State vs. Texas. I just don't see Texas having the offensive weapons to keep up with the Pokes if this ends up in a shootout.
Iowa State vs. Texas Tech. Red Raiders in Lubbock.
Pittsburgh vs. Duke. Too bad this isn't a basketball game.
Boston College vs. Virginia. Virginia should pull this off.
Syracuse vs. (7) Miami. Miami will not be overlooking them probably like Clemson was.
Indiana vs. (24) Michigan State. Sparty at home.
(22) UCF vs. Navy. My "upset" pick of the week, and the highly anticipated showdown between unbeaten UCF & USF next month is ruined.
Illinois vs. Minnesota. Tough first year for Lovie Smith in Champaign.
Arizona State vs. Utah. Utah doesn't usually score a lot of points, but against this defense they should put up points. I think last week's game against U Dub was a fluke.
(13) Oklahoma vs. Kansas State. Close for a while, but OK pulls ahead.
Kentucky vs. Mississippi State. Bulldogs at home
Oregon vs. UCLA. Both all offense no defense teams. Whoever has the ball last probably wins. I'm going to pick UCLA and hope they end up having the ball last.
(19) LSU vs. Ole Miss. I'll take LSU
Wake Forest vs. Georgia Tech. I like Georgia Tech.
(18) Michigan vs. (2) Penn State. Penn State at home in Happy Valley. Sure, Michigan has a great defense but at least Penn State has something Michigan doesn't have....an offense and a QB, and that's the difference.
(21) Auburn vs. Arkansas. Bielama's already all but out at Arkansas, if Malzahan loses this one he's probably out as well.
(6) USC vs. (20) Notre Dame. USC has owned them for the last 10+ years, but I think ND edges them at home to stay alive in the playoff race.
(23) West Virginia vs. Baylor. West Virginia easy, Baylor is terrible.
Arizona vs. Cal. The new QB for Arizona has seemed to turn their season around.
Wyoming vs. Boise State. Broncos on the smurf turf.
Fresno State vs. San Diego State. Aztecs bounce back with a win.
Colorado vs. (16) Washington State. Coogs bounce back at the Paloose.

the arizona/cal game was typical of this rivalry. in 2014 when arizona played cal last, it was a last second touchdown pass that won the game for arizona. so this is typical insanity each time these two teams play.

nest p for arizona is another game of insanity with washington state.
