First, it was a blowout loss to a team they were favored against. (California 37, WSU 3). Wow.

Then AD Bill Moos bolts for Nebraska.

And now rumors he will bring Mike Leach with him. (Though if this were to happen, probably not till the end of the season). BTW, Leach didn't deny he would be going east today...instead just hemmed and hawed around the question, saying Riley was "a good coach".

I know Wazzu isn't an elite school, but Leach could win 7 or 8 games a year and be coach for life there. The Cornhuskers are an absolute dumpster fire, and a 10-win season in Lincoln can get you fired. If I were him I'd wait for a better gig.

Except expectations in Lincoln are not what they were a decade ago. I think he could be a good fit there, but agreed perhaps there may be a better job in Leach's future.

He could get a street named after him in Pullman and would be a lifer if he stayed at Wazzu. A 12-2 season where you are undefeated at Thanksgiving but then lose in the Big 10 championship game, and than the BCS bowl game would put you on the hot seat at Nebraska. Sure, the pay will probably be better, but the grass ain't always greener on the other side, and I certainly think this would be one of those times. He should stay in Pullman.

Leach to Nebraska would be very interesting. The Cornhuskers definitely need something different.

Problem is that fan bases get nervous and impatient when the wins aren't happening at THEIR speed. Especially at the more so-called "elite" programs.

WSU definitely would be better for Leach; Nebraska-level elitists will eat him alive if there is no immediate progress. Then they're off to their next ex-coach...
