i dont think jones is going to get the nod anyway, he has worked for rich rod in the past, and our current AD wants to avoid issues like that.

Grad_student - You left out the horrific rape culture coverup scandal at Baylor U. in Waco. For some odd reason it hasn't received appropriate attention nationwide over the past two years. Not to mention why the NCAA, the Big XII, and the Department of Justice have done nothing about it. It ranks second only to the Penn State child rape/Sandusky scandal.

Not to mention how little attention was paid to this past week's faux pas by the Football Coaches Association's invitation for the disgraced Art Briles to be their keynote convention speaker.

so far sumlin is impressing me with the types of players he is going after. rodriguez always went for smaller players with lots of speed on defense, but sumlin is going after the bigger players, especially linemen on both sides of the ball, that are bigger. though he has gone after lighter defensive ends but still in the 250lb range.

he isnt making any real changes to the offense, which was effective last season. i do hope that he is going to change the defense though and make it more effective against the running game. that 3-3-5 defense kind of sucked, and with lighter players, they tired out more easily late in the game.

so i watched the arizona red/blue game today and both sides of the ball have been improved. the offense in that tate is looking better as a passer, and he has good back ups, and the defense has changed as well, bugger players, more pressure on the quarterback, and more aggressive, and better disciplined as well. it is going to be an interesting season to be sure. and we dont play stanford or washington this season.
