LSU's new coach is an interesting fit for the area, being from Boston and having spent most of his career in the midwest at Notre Dame and Cincinnatti.

Do you think he's a good fit for Baton Rouge and the LSU culture?

That question will answer itself in due time and all comes down to wins and losses.

It's much too early to tell how long of a "leash" he will get.

That's true.

I know LSU fans were fine with Coach O in 2019, but once 2020-21 came along, then he fell out of good graces. And he was a "cultural" fit, so to speak. At least more than Kelly (but a lot of media are bringing this idea of being a "fit" culturally as a question or potential issue).

I remember when Coach O started losing games, some fans were complaining because he allegedly puts tomatoes in his gumbo. And I have to agree, that is good grounds for termination!!!

Based on last weekend, the answer for now is "Yes"

Yeah, first season but so much for a "non SEC guy" not being able to win.

Saban was "not an SEC guy" before he came to LSU.

Urban Meyer was "not an SEC guy" before he came to Florida.

I think the SEC is the best conference, but I never got the argument that someone who never coached in the SEC automatically couldn't be successful in it.

I’ll say he is! LSU won the SEC West and gets to play JawJaw in Hotlanta.

Congrats from a Gator. Nice to see another team besides Bama there.

And fingers crossed our Louisiana transplant can lead my team to a meeting with your Tigers soon.

LSU has chances for redemption. The loss does not kill its CFP hopes.
