I'm an ACC guy but I've got to be honest and say the SEC. The SEC, top to bottom is the best conference in football right now!

The obvious answer has to be the SEC, not only winning but blowing Ohip St out of the water the past two years. The more interesting debate would be the most successful conference ever.

I am a florida fan, and thus an SEC fan. they are clearly the more dominant conference. however I will say this. USC has always been a scary team. they are good year in and year out. I just think that the SEC has more depth. also, the SEC plays a conference championship game.

This does not make the SEC a more successful conference.

Florida and LSU winning the past two national titles do.

There is only 1 way to truly determine which conference is best- on the field. All else is just talk.

So let's see... a top SEC team just played a PAC-10 team projected to finish either last or next to last.

Who won?

Well, blow my buttons, the PAC-10 team won. A bottom feeder PAC-10 team beats a top SEC team.

The SEC is easily one of the top 3 conferences year in and year out. But there is way too much hype and media fondling about them to really understand the truth.'

by "top" SEC team, are you referring to the team picked to finish at best 5th? LSU, florida, georgia, and auburn are all picked ahead of them. south carolina could also finish ahead of them, and after the way alabama played, they could too. sorry, your assessment is incorrect. I would guess that tennessee will finish around 6th-7th in the conference. also, it was on the road, tenn out gained them, and lost on a missed field goal in overtime. it wasn't like it was a convincing win. you will see what a good team does to tenn when they play florida at home.

side note, the pac-10 had 6 teams with losing records last year, the SEC had 2. yes, 6 out of 10 had losing records. the SEC, 2 out of 12. top to bottom, the SEC is dominant.

Top SEC team? Hmmmm.....I'd place Tennessee around 6th or 7th in the SEC behind:

Georgia
Florida
LSU
Auburn
Alabama

and perhaps even South Carolina
