ESPN - Bowden, Tigers part without sharing an ACC crown - College Football

I had mentioned in another thread not too long ago that Tommy Bowden probably wouldn't be coaching the Clemson Tigers much longer, and today, he resigned his position. I wasn't expecting it to come half-way into the season however. But Clemson's football fans have higher expectations of their team more than other ACC schools and Bowden just was not getting it done.
I'm sure other programs will be interested in him.

the timing was the only surprise. I thought he would have coached to see if the switch at QB would work.

From what his own players said about him after wards this was the best move for the team.
