Hey While I agree with this, they really need to set it up so you dont have a 3 loss Mizzu playing for the conference championship while another top Big XII team sits at home.

If anything positive can come from this maybe it's some changes to the system. I would hope death to the BCS but that isnt going to happen.

Well;I gueess the BCS is exposed as a money thing now. I just don't get that winning over a opponent duirng the season means nothing when there is politics and money involved.I don't see anyhtign oklahoma did in a week to jump Texas. The system never really change.Football is now all about style oints it seems.

I find it stupid that a computer tells us who should play for the national title. That's basically the AD's laughing at our intelligence. Just go back to the voters and hand out national titles if this mess keeps happening. No matter how many changes you make to this system, there will always be something.

Also, notice how every time there is a problem with the BCS, OU is involved.

2000: OU probably didn't play the best team that year in the NC game.
2003: Lost the conference champ game by 28 and still went to the NC game over a team that won it's conference.
2004: Went to the NC game but was one of three undefeated teams in the nation. Lost to USC 55-19 but most felt that Auburn-USC would have been the better game.
2008: Self Explanatory. Won the Big 12 South due to stupid tiebreaking rule.

Nice try, but the championship wasn't played in the Cotton Bowl. By your logic, Tech should be rated higher than UT because they won the head to head.

I'd love to hear how you would have broke a three way tie.

If we didn't have Big 12 South and North, Texas and OU could have played each other again to really settle things in the Big 12 championship game. As it is, some nothing team (read: Missou) is going to have their patooties handed to them and Texas is out in the cold. Eliminate N/S and you fix part of the problem.

To me, the bottom line is this:

OU CRUSHED Cincinnati and TCU; two teams ranked in the top 13 of the BCS. The crushed Texas Tech as well; so Oklahoma CRUSHED 3 teams in the top 13. Texas beat Florida Atlantic and Rice? Oklahoma deserves a crack at the Big XII title and national title.

----"eliminate N/S"--

Then there would be no need for a championship game.

I don't know of any conference that plays a --championship--game unless there are --2--divisions within the conference.( SEC and Big 12)
Tying for the conference (1 division conferences) is quite commen and they don't play an extra game and never will.

A Tech fan can see OU going to the Big 12 championship game, because, well...they lost to OU.

But UT beat both teams playing in the Big 12 championship game, and is tied for 1st place. So go figure.

Either ways, UT is going to a BCS bowl game, so that's a good thing. But to say the OU was the Big 12 champ in 08(no way Mizzu is going to win the game), ouch! Plus the possibility of a BCS championship...ouch!
