but probably many of the players on the best highschool team will never play even division 3 football. The high school team may have a few d1 prospects and a handful of d2, but most of the team will probably never play football again.
I think the d3 team wins, though not a blowout if the high school team has a few d1 stars. The d3 team would wear them down though as their line would probably be much bigger and stronger

The high school I went to won the USA Today National Championship and State Championship my senior year "97" and the State Championship the next year, 98.
We had at least 12 D1 players on those teams that graduated those two years. One ended up being a multiple time All American at Ohio State. He and another player are still playing in the NFL. Many more had great college careers.
Almost all of the players played football after high school. My best friend in High School played probably 10 minutes, and got to go to a 20K+ DIII school for next to nothing, ended up being an All Conference player.
We lived pretty close to Mount Union, which is the best DIII school, and I would be willing to wager those years we could have been competitive, if not won the game against them

No, because they'd be playing D-I. An unpolished, unexperienced D-I freshman would wipe the floor with a D-III senior.
Very nice. OH HS football is something else. I've been following it a little bit over the last few years.

I'll take a freshman from Miami/Ohio State/Texas any day over a senior from Principia/Colorado College/Cornell College...
