BC fires Jags

This is not good for amateur football in the Northeast

BC is one of the high profile programs up here, and this firing is bad for recruiting

That was a dumb move to fire him like that. He turned the team around and for having a dinky interview cost him his job. Last night i was watching Around the Horn on ESPN and Woody Paige made a good point. He said someone should have called Boston College's Athletic Director before having the interview. He also said that the Jets are partially at fault for not telling anyone until after the dude got fired.

BC was 9-3, 9-3 & 10-3 the 3 previous years so I think it is a stretch to say he turned the program around. He was not going to stick around anyway. I would think it would be bad for recruiting if you think the coach may bolt at the first oppurtunity to the NFL.

If his name had been out there a month ago you wonder if Tennessee or Auburn or especially Syracuse might have hired him instead.

With him on the market now I' wouldn't be surprised if a team like Colorado or Washington State fires their coach to get Jag

I think BC should have kept Jags but they have Gene DeFilippo who's a good and smart AD.
