OU, FL, and USC would all be favored by double digits against Utah on a neutral field.

As the above posters said, Utah won against a weak schedule in a weak conference. Congrats on beating AL, even if they were missing the best lineman in the country and were completely uninspired, you still won and should be proud.

The MWC likes to say that they were 6-1 against the Pac 10, but they don't like to mention that those wins came mostly against bottom feeders; OU and FL would not be touting wins against Stanford, AZ, AZ State, and ughhh...UW. Also, Utah likes to count TCU as a quality win but most of us saw OU put away TCU in the first quarter. Any other team who was playing in a BCS game outside of the Orange Bowl would have gone undefeated in the MWC. Remember that Boise State and Ball State also had impressive records but records don't tell the whole story.

Vegas odds makers agreed that Utah would be a double-digit dog to OU, FL, and USC on neutral field if the game was played tomorrow. They don't lie and are right more than they're wrong.

One quality win does not make you the best team in the country. If it did, we would have crowned Applachian State the National Champion after week one last year.

Congrats to FL for winning the NC and to OU for putting up a heck of a fight.

Its really USC that I am not sure of. But I would say Texas is in that league certainly, Afterall, they are the only team to put up 45 points against Oklahoma. But aftre the lose to Texas I guess USC fans like to forget. But last I looked most of Vince Youngs records already have fallen to McCoy. Ahnd he will be back his senior year unlike Vince Young.

You can make an argument for Texas, too. I won't dispute that; however, I don't see how USC losing to Texas a few years ago has any bearing on this season.

As far as Texas being better than USC...who really knows what would happen? Given the current system, one of the only ways to compare them is how they handled Ohio State; Texas came back at the last second and USC crushed Ohio State and also destroyed the Penn State team that beat Ohio State. This doesn't necessarily mean that USC would beat Texas since games always come down to the unique matchups between the teams playing, but it's all we have to go on since they're both top tier teams that finished the season with the same record and with BCS wins.

Maybe next season will have an answer for us but I have a feeling we will walk away equally unsatisfied.
