bama was burned out

look at the schedule they had to play, only to lose one game to the gators, they probably did not care who won or lossed, because they were not gonna be the champs anyways

Imagine if we had a playoff

We might have seen Texas vs Florida Utah vs USC. Or something like that.

Utah has claim to be #1 but Florida won in the system we have have.

Florida won the NC game.
Florida won the AP poll.

There is no other measure of being crowned NC. The Gators are the National Champions.

Until there is a playoff, the Gators are deservedly National Champs. They proved it last night with their awesome defense and some pretty good offense as well.

Congrats to the Champs, the Florida Gators!

Utah 31 Bama 17
UF 31 Bama 20 playing without Harvin

Hardly a big difference. Going into the Bama game experts were saying Utah would do well because they were so similar to Florida. They're running an offense implemented by Urban Meyer when he was there and run by a quarterback Urban recruited. However, Whittingham is no Urban Meyer, Brian Johnson is no Tim Tebow and the Mountain West is not the SEC.

That is a terrible way to compare teams. Teams match up differently and games are played in different conditions and in different ways. That in no way tells who is better or equal or anything else.

I'd hardly say that beating Michigan by 2 points;air force by 7 ;new mexico by 3 and TCU by 3 makes them have a claim to the national championship. One game against a good team does not make for a national chmapionship. They need to play a much tougher schedule to be tested week after week to get that. That is why they were not playing either Florida or Oklahoma for the title.

Utah would be a middle of the pack SEC team at best probably like a South Carolina or Vanderbilt, 7-5,8-4 maybe, if they were in the SEC. I wonder how many of these Utah #1 folks would take say $5000 and get 3 points and put their money on Utah if there was a FL-Utah game next week? Still that confident in Utah? I would take Florida, give Utah 7 points and bet the house, the car, the 401k, the wife and kids, my left arm and leg and not even think twice about it.

Utah has the toughest schedule.....San Diego State, Weber State, New Mexico, Wyoming, Air Force, Utah State, Colorado State, etc. Seriously, these teams on their schedule would give my old high school team a run for our money.
