Oh I remember that well because VT was ranked 3rd. The problem that year was the VT was ranked first in the computer polls due to their strength of schedule in most of the BCS computer programs, but were destroyed by LSU. The coaches had to vote LSU high in all the human polls because VT would've gotten into the NC game otherwise.

I definitely agree LSU was better than us that year, but man did it suck to be so close to the NC game. Then we went and sucked it up in our bowl game anyways... 2007 was a crazy year, how many teams were ranked #2 that year??

edit: just checked, it was 7.

Anyone else impressed with the canes so far this year? Always haters on this thread, but I think this year is a quite respectable team, what are your thoughts?

I'm right there with ya. I don't think Mississippi should have been in the top 10 yet at any point this season.
