If you can't beat 'em join 'em!

Can someone either explain or direct me to a site about football? Something to break it down and make it easy to understand?

Where do you live? Going to a game will really help you appreciate and understand the passion.

"Get Your Own D### Beer - I'm Watching The Game" by Holly Robinson Peete

It's technically a guide to pro football but adaptable for your purposes. Holly's husband played the game. I think there are also "Idiot's Guides" to football. Check your library or bookstore.

Good for you Magritte!

Explaining football in a book is like explaing sex to a virgin. You have to experience to understand what's going on.

My son joined the wrestling team at his school last year. I knew zero about the sport and was clueless for most of the early meets. But from watching and talking to more experienced parents, I had a pretty good handle on the sport by the end of the season. Just sit down and watch and ask your hubby to explain.

I agree that watching with your hubby is the best idea, Margitte. That way he can explain right then and there. That's how I learned when I was a child from watching and listening to my parents and going to a Pats game when I was 9 years old. That really got me "into" the sport. Going to games as an adult made me even more of a Pats' nut too. Even when we weren't a class A team back in the day. I also learned about hockey and baseball from watching tv and going to games. (as an adult)

Good luck to you and welcome to the world of football! You may be amazed at how much you may come to love the sport!!!

BTW, is your hubby in a college football pool at work? I was and I even won many times because I delved into stats and read many articles on college's teams. I had to learn about college football. Again, good luck.
