Sandpointian, I'd agree if it was only about that one punch. It was more than one punch. It was the sucker punch, the punching of his own teammates, his attempt to attack fans, and his fighting against his coach and police officers who were trying to get him under control. I'd agree with your opinion if he had only threw one sucker punch and walked away. This was way beyond that.
That he went nuts was as the result of the trigger. OK, slap on another two games.

But seriously, let's keep this in perspective. Coaches who do similar evils will get a contract buyout and fee vacation before getting rehired at six or s4even figures. For this guy, this might be it.

When was the last time a coach cold cocked the other coach after the game?

Oh thats right, it has never happened.

You're just making stuff up.

People are usually given a second chance in sports. This was Blounts 2nd chance, and he blew it.

Had it been a white guy punched a black guy that had just shoved and taunted him...

the puncher would be suspended the same as the taunter.

As it is the black guy gets suspended for the season and the white guy gets "internal" punishment.

#34 LeGarrette Blount: POS.

"While players who have DUI's and drug arrests continue to play. A bit hypocritical don't you think?"

So, if you will, please assist me in my reading challenged state by pointing out your reference to the hypocrisy of Oregon state? Or perhaps the problem isn't my reading, just your writing?

First it's not Oregon St it the University of Oregon, atelast get that right.

The hypocrisy reckless driving and crashing your vehicle into oncoming traffic is a worse offense than punching a guy in the face, yet Oregon didn't suspend those players for one game.

He knocked him off his feet-lol

But I looked at the video footage again and I didn't know he punched one of his teammates too along with trying to attack a fan. So yes I think the right thing to do was to suspend his crazy a$$

Difference is the reckless driving and crashing was separate from the university. This game and fight was at a sanctioned university event, while wearing team uniforms with the university's logo, and on university property. If I'm in a wreck on my own time I'm not going to get fired from my job. If I punch a co-worker on company clock then I'm looking for work and a lawyer.

They are still members of your team, while I do see your point, I don't think players should be given lesser penalties for DUI's, drug charges, etc. Look at the NFL if you get arrested now a days your looking at some kind of suspension.
