My guess is its for recruiting purposes, thats the only reason I can think of, or maybe they want to expose their last minute victorys against medicore teams to the South
It's evidently an attempt at getting back to their "barnstorming" days, so to speak and yes, I believe it's geared towards helping recruiting. There's going to be a game next year in Yankee Stadium, one in the Super Dome in 2011 or 2012 (I can't remember which) and one game at the new Cowboys Stadium in 2013. All neutral site games that are treated as "home" games for ND. I think this particular game was scheduled a few years ago. They're also playing Navy at the Meadowlands next year but that one will be a home game for Navy.
they might as well tear down their stadiums if they are gonna keep scheduling home games in other cities, must suck for the locals and the fans.
Notre Dame has a national following, they sell out all over the country.
