ND Names a New Coach
Sources: Kelly to replace Weis at Notre Dame - ESPN
Hey at least we don't have to look at Charlie Weis anymore, also why not wait to finalize it until after your bowl game?

Recruiting. Remember when Rich Rodriguez left WVU, they were in a BCS bowl game and he said see ya 3 weeks prior to the bowl game. I will be SHOCKED if Kelly does the same.
Oh, and ND declined their bowl invite.

And in five years, Kelly will be getting in front of the press talking about his firing. Just like the last how many coaches?

Well he recruited well at 3 other schools, now he gets to go against the big boys. But these kids will need to know how to read. Cinci was never known as an academic hotbed. Remember Huggins grad rates...0%.

It's not like Notre Dame's schedule is that tough, especially this year. Them not winning at least 9 this year is a disgrace. Yeah, it'll be tougher at ND, but this is a guy who's succeeded at a high level with recruiting classes ranked in the 50s nationally. At ND he should land classes at least in the top 20 and likely higher, judging by recent history.
Is his offensive coordinator coming with him? I've heard that guy's been with Kelly since his D-II days. I know the OC is coaching Cincy in their bowl, but have not heard if he's going to South Bend.

I'll be honest, I hate ND but even I'm happy we won't have to look at coach Front Butt every Saturday anymore.
Regarding coaches leaving early, they sorta have to so they can get started on recruiting ASAP. Seems unfair to the kids left behind though.
I think that whenever there is a coaching change the players remaining should be allowed to transfer w/o penalty.

Therein lies the problem for ND.
