several, as in ASU and Oregon.

Also, the ASU upset was big...but it wasn't the biggest of the year. That title goes to Stanford taking out USC, who was a 41 point favorite.

Whoa now. Really? Oddsmakers didn't touch the App game. From what I understand, oddsmakers don't generally mess with games involving schools from different classifications. Still, don't you think 41 points might have been a possible call on that game?

Stanford was 1-3 prior to the USC game, but they're still a Pac-10 school whose losses were all to top 25 teams (UCLA, Oregon, and Arizona State).

I'm not diminishing the Stanford game. It was pretty crazy. It was an in-conference and certainly in-division game, though.

Does anyone remember the movie with Adam Sandler who's a pro quaterback that gets sent to prison?

One of the lines in that movie when they were trying to prepare the C.O's an easy opening game. Sandler's character says something like..."....you get a team like Appalachian State and whip the sh@t out of 'em.."

Does anyone remember that line? It's ironic now watching that movie and remembering what happened to Michigan/Appalachian State.

It's an oft' quoted line among the Appalachian faithful. A former App player, Mark Ellis, was a technical consultant on the movie (The Longest Yard. The Adam Sandler remake of the Burt Reynolds original). He tried to coach Sandler into pronouncing "Appalachian" the way they say it at ASU (App-uh-LATCH-in). He tried.
