Programming is frustrating and accounting is depressingly boring. Have fun!

I'd say accounting. Programming can be done by Habib in India.

Here are a few-->

1. ER Physician - avg pay $250k / top pay $368k (probably not too boring, right???)

2. OB/GYN- avg pay $210k / top pay $313k (babies aren't boring!)

3. Pyschiatrist- avg pay $185k / top pay $269k (definitely not dull!)

4. Product Development Manager - avg pay $148k / top pay $190k (taking new products, from app-based phones to soft drinks and potato chips, from idea to store shelves.....that's not dull!)

5. Software Engineer/ Development Director- avg pay $144k/ top pay $202k (not my strong suit, but others may find it interesting)

6. Management Consultant- avg pay $117k / top pay $209 (getting to visit work in a wide variety of companies and industries for a few weeks/ months at a time? Definitely not boring.)

Just a few less boring/ dull/ depressing career paths you may not have considered

Actually on 1 and 2 I think ER docs and OB/GYN rate on the lower side of job satisfaction surveys for doctors. Especially OB/GYN which is one of the reasons my wife decided not to become an OB.

Payroll is commonly outsourced by large companies, especially multinational ones. The same goes for AP and AR. My company have outsourced payroll but only to a Norwegian company.

You could always do both and go work for SAP, Oracle, one of the Big 4, etc. I would think being able to do both would be helpful in software development at any of those companies.
