Both charge a ridiculous amount for the degree you are getting...
I'd go with SMU over GWU-- only because I knew a guy who went to GWU and transferred to UT-Austin... if GWU was so great it seems like he would have stayed there.
Thanks guys for sharing your thoughts. The only reason I lean toward SMU is the high cost of living in DC area and north Virginia. by comparing the two cities, I think Dallas more affordable than DC area.
For I.T. you shouldn't really go to either school. SMU isn't known for being strong in that field. Its value is in its graduate business and law programs.

I wanted to go to GW and was accepted a couple years ago. I couldn't go due to money issues.
I would go if you have the opportunity to.
I'm facing kind of the same problem, If I go to GW I have to squeeze myself and my wife in tiny apartment + might have to sell the car. whereas in SMU I would be relaxed financially...
I wish I applied to only one and not have to deal between them
