Hello,
I am planning on moving to NOVA and was considering attending NOVA community college in the Fall of 2011 to study Accounting. I am not currently residing in Virginia state and will plan to move there around August. I have looked at the tuition for Virginia residents and for out of state residents for the college and its a big diffrence. My question is how long do I have to live in the state to be considered a resident? Also are there other community colleges in the area I can choose from?
I am not very familiar with the college so any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You have to live in the state for a year to be considered a resident for tuition purposes.

Establishing Virginia Domicile

NoVA is the only CC in the area (though it has a zillion different campuses), but there are tons of universities nearby that offer part time programs, weekend classes, etc.

If you have specific questions, don't be afraid to call or email the admissions/financial aid folks. They were super friendly and helpful when I had a question about a summer class I took last year.

(You may want to post this on the NoVA board too, especially if you have more questions)

NOVA is an outstanding community college and you would be very wise to spend the time to establish residency in order to attend NOVA.

NOVA is a great community college, and ACCT is a great field to study.

Get your associates degree and then transfer to Mason for a bachelors.

Good Luck.
