Look, the bottom line is, you should be shooting for the highest GPA you can get. Always. Whether you are transferring or not, no matter what school you are attending or want to attend.

If you are looking for a number that represents the minimum amount of work you can do to get by--it's going to be obvious in your application, regardless of what your GPA is, and that's not what college admissions boards are looking for.
