Will a bachelor's and MBA from USF and a Florida CPA license be any use in the northeast U. S.? Or will I be fighting with people from the University of Phoenix for a job if I moved up there?
I was being serious. I wanna move outta Floriduh to make a batter living but not if my degree is gonna be suddenly worthless.
A degree from ANY accredited university should be looked at exactly the same. A lot of people put more weight into an ivy league school, or something that is pseudo prestigious like Penn State/Ohio State/Michigan, but it's all the same. That's the entire point of the accreditation institutions.
Your competition (at the local public accounting firm level) will be grads from the local and regional colleges with decent enough business schools that **they all went to** and where they got hired into tax season scut jobs and then on graduation became junior staff... and who have all the community and golf course ties.
Which is probably just as true for someone from Baltimore or somewhere else in the NE coming down to Gainesville and looking for a job. Follow?

F'rinstance... most practicing CPA's in Philly are more likely to have gone to Drexel or Temple than to Wharton.
